Bounded Being

Our consciousness uses patterns of meaning within a cognitive horizon. We might refer to this consciousness as having a Cognitive Model, one that is bounded by that which has been learned and remembered.

We use this map to interpret the world around us. This map, indeed, is how we define our reality.

We recognize that within consciousness there are different ways in which we might think, that is, to make meaning of the patterns that we experience.

There is thinking that is _reactionary_, focused on our survival in a state of threat. There is thinking that is _analytical_ in nature that allows us to define order from that which we understand how to act, then there is Creative Thinking that which allows us to imagine into that which has not yet been previously experienced.

We now recognize when there is surprise that is at the edge of our current cognitive horizon, and we are able to make meaning of that surprise — meta-meaning — a reforming, or reimaging of our consciousness can happen, one that allows a flow to continue a process of reimaging, a Metanoietic Consciousness.

We are living in a new reality.
